Why Is Recycling Important?

Landfill sites across the United Kingdom are filling up at extremely fast rates. This is mainly due to people not sorting their own rubbish into what can be recycled and what truly needs to go to a landfill. Meaning we are damaging our environment more with every rubbish run we do. But why is recycling important?

Recycling plays a huge part in keeping our environment healthy. Not only for animals and wildlife but for the air we breathe in. The more waste goes to landfill, the more polluted our air is becoming.

Ideally, you want to sort your waste into three bins. One is for those items that can be recycled and reused like cardboard, paper, plastic, metals, tin and more. Another for food waste that can be made into compost. Finally a section of rubbish that can not be reused in any of the other scenarios. This will help to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill sites.
