While recycling can be a bit of a chore for those doing it, the benefits both to society and to the environment are clear to see. In fact, beyond the money earned by businesses who collect the waste we produce, other businesses thrive on processing it, and then all of the processed materials are reintroduced into the supply chain, reducing the constant demand for new materials being imported into the country, and helping manufacturing companies thrive on the constant source of recycled resources.
Besides the benefits to commerce and the environment, the arguably more important benefits to society are also well worth telling people about. Currently, a lot of potentially recyclable materials are thrown into landfills, which has a number of bad implications. Some of these materials are dangerous to human health and animal life, and the risk of those chemicals seeping to the water table is certainly present, as is the chance of animals living and feeding in and around the landfills.
