Creating Fuel out of Waste

Recycling is about taking the good form a piece of waste and making it live again in a new form, and that’s exactly what can be achieved today. There are plenty of ways to recycle and recently the Mechanical Engineering Department of Annamalai University found a way of converting waste plastics into petroleum products.

This was said to be a clean and cost effective way to address the problem of plastic waste, and after 2 hours work the engineering department said they can produce around 50 litres of petrol. That’s a significant amount and it can seem like petrol out of nothing considering much of the plastic waste was set to be destroyed.

It just goes to show that there are new ways of recycling and it’s pleasing to see recycling as a way of creating more fuel.
