The Current Limits to Recycling

Recycling is not only an essential method for preventing damage to the global ecology, it is also very important to the national and global economy. At this point in time, more materials are being recycled than ever before, and this has created a massive industry around recycling, which in turn has proven how much potential profit there is in the business, which has led many to the conclusion that recycling is a worthwhile endeavour.

While the big push towards recycling that has happened over the last few decades has been a great thing, there are still a number of limitations to what we’re doing to reach the goal of recycling 100% of all of our waste. There are numerous types of plastics and metals which are very hard and expensive to recycle, and many more which, during the recycling process, also release quite a lot of pollution too (which kind of defeats the purpose).
